Abstract

SETTON, Damian  and  ALGRANTI, Joaquín. Living Religious Institutions: Body and Space at Judaic and Pentecostal Institutions in Buenos Aires. Alteridades [online]. 2009, vol.19, n.38, pp.77-94. ISSN 2448-850X.

Within the framework of religious revival that has modified relationships between religion, society, and subjectivity, this paper focuses on the production of body and space, and analyzes the ways of belonging to two different institutions (one Judaic and the other neo-Pentecostal) in the City of Buenos Aires. Religious space is composed of levels of belonging that go from the hard nucleus to the periphery, passing through intermediate instances that delineate different modes of the subject.

Keywords : body; belonging; history; convertion; cosmology.
