In this essay we consider some cases of the model called Creative Cities, which were enthusiastically implemented in cities of the developed world. It also examines some programs like Cultura Ciudadana (Citizens' Culture) of Bogota, and Urbanismo Social (Social Urbanism) of Medellin. The article concludes with some recommendations to achieve a culturally sustainable development.
