Abstract

This article examines some cultural practices thatfrequent visitors show during certain visiting hours and days at Santa Fe shopping center, situated west of Mexico City. The question that arises is whether being at a shopping center represents a way of living and practicing the city. In order to respond it as well as to approaching this topic the notions of fetishism, narcissism and voyeurism, according to the Anglo-Saxon investigator Barry Brummet, are utilized. In this way this article explores the way in whichfrequent visitors window shop, snff,fiddle about and nose around this commercial space.
