Abstract

ICAZURIAGA MONTES, Carmen  and  OSORIO FRANCO, Lorena Erika. The relation periphery towns-city center in Querétaro through mobility and consuming practices. Alteridades [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.33, pp.21-41. ISSN 2448-850X.

At the end of 50's during the 20th century, a sustained urban growth of the city of Querétaro began. This was due to industrialization, which happened to be the main factor for socio-economic growth in the state and also the principal aspect in the urban development that turned this city into a metropolis. Within the expansion of the metropolitan zone, ancienttowns located in the periphery have been integrated, as it is the case of Santa Rosa Jáuregui. Thefunctional integration of the population of this town is analyzed through changes in territorial mobility and consuming practices concerning three cohorts: grandfathers-grandmothers, fathers-mothers and sons-daughters.

Keywords : metropolis; consuming practices; territorial mobility.
