Third Mission in the Public State Universities in Mexico: An approach through the PCA-DEA methodology. Acta univ [online]. 2021, vol.31, e2992. Epub Feb 16, 2022. This research aims to measure the technical efficiency of the Public State Universities in Mexico in relation to their Third Mission. To this end, the principal component analysis and data envelopment analysis (PCA-DEA) methodology was used. The PCA serves to reduce the number of unproductive variables, and the DEA serves to measure efficiency. The results show that when the total outputs are used at the same time, 13 SPU are efficient; on the other hand, when they are measured by dimension, innovation appears with the highest number of efficient SPU.
