This fieldwork takes up the perspective proposed by Paul Claval of working with what is experienced by the inhabitants and scholars of an observed landscape. Concerned with the environment and rituality, the authors relate a journey to a hill located south of Mexico City that allows them to approach the ways in which a society experiences its environment, uses it, gives it meaning and acts upon it.
