The following article analyze the spatial distribution of marginalization in the city of Merida, the results show that this phenomenon can be identified throughout the area occupied by the city, however the frequency varies.  Traditionally, it is recognized that the northern part of town is where prevail the best social and economic conditions, while in the south, the opposite occurs, where poor socioeconomic conditions predominates. In this work it is showed that in the northern part of the city there are at least seven neighborhoods with very high poverty levels, which means a more complex and contrasting mosaic than what its usually recognized. This work contributes to the generation of information at the level of the 363 colonies, that was the level of detail used. Also included some variables into the analysis of marginalization that provide additional information and makes possible to analyze its relationship with the measurement of marginalization by colony, the perception of the incidence of assaults, alcoholism, drug addiction and prostitution was recognized. It also prove that the component that most affects the calculation of marginalization index is the percentage of employed persons who earn two or fewer minimum wages.
