Abstract

VAZQUEZ SOLIS, Valente. New regions of the state of San Luis Potosí: an spatial expression of functional integration for economic competitiveness. Invest. Geog [online]. 2011, n.75, pp.103-117. ISSN 2448-7279.

This paper proposes a new economic regionalization of the state of San Luis Potosi, based on a quantitative methodological approach, to capture the emerging territorial integrations that it raises. The first section details the background and criteria employed in the regional division which based decision making in issues development and boost competitiveness, two items of priority for economic policy of the state. Later, shows the main result of two methods applied -probabilistic classification and probabilistic regionalization− were revealed with existing regional boundaries. Finally, the benefits are based and the relevance of regionalization obtained with respect to currently operating in the state.
