The present work deals with the delimitation of physical geographical landscapes of the northwestern region of the Chiapas State, Mexico, from the geoecological conception for the physical geographical synthetic classification of territorial units. The taxonomy used was the landscape classification system of the Russian academic approach. Taking into account the 1: 100 000 scale, different geographical units were determined: 5 Localities, 11 Neighborhoods and 43 Boroughs (smallest categories). For each one of them there is a description of their biophysical attributes, their spatial and percentage values of the types of vegetation and land use. This classification constitutes the base for the evaluation of the environmental situation, the natural potential of the use and knowledge on the compatibility degree of the land use, key conditions for the establishment of the management units in the ecological planning models.
