Abstract

JUAREZ GUTIERREZ, María del Carmen. Micro-regional discontinuity along the Mexican coasts. Invest. Geog [online]. 2001, n.44, pp.144-159. ISSN 2448-7279.

This work analyses a micro-regional system of coastal municipalities that allows to identify those territories with the highest population concentration and the most economically-dynamic areas. Aspects considered include the road density with payment, paved, unpaved roads and tracks, as well as railroads; through the various economic assimilation levels, identifying unbalances with a geographic space typology, defining from pivotal to discontinuous unbalances.

Keywords : Coastal areas; economic assimilation; regionalization.
