This paper intends to establish the temperature requirements on the different stages of growth of Coffea arábica L. in the northern area of the Puebla state, where this crop grows. Heat units by two methods, the remainder index (summation constant) and the exponential index were calculated; also, other agroclimatic elements like the daily range of temperature, and maximum and minimum temperatures. Daily, monthly and annual mean of them were obtained. The probabilities of damage to plants by low and high temperatures were also calculated. At difference to other similar studies, this paper gives special attention to daily extremes of temperature, and the ranges on the stages of growth of the crop were established.
