In this paper the spatial and temporal behavior of the maximum rainfall intensity is analyzed in the Valley of Mexico by means of the maximum annual values for the duration of 5 and 60 minutes and the expected values for the durations of 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes in the return periods of 10, 25, 50 and 100 years. All this with the purpose, on one side, of providing useful information to projects of hydraulic structures or researchings on soil erosion, and on the other side to detect the possible relationships existing between the rainfall intensity and the human action in the physical environment, considering that the Valley of Mexico is one of the regions more populated and disturbed of Mexico.
