Abstract

Objective: The study, based on an integrative sociological approach, aimed to build a model of knowledge management for local agricultural development based on the experience of Cuban Higher Education in Camajuaní municipality. Methodology: The conditions expressed in the most important potentialities and obstacles in the municipal agricultural environment, which local Government should evaluate, were diagnosed to implement knowledge management actions in formation of a local agricultural development strategy. Results: The construction and application of a model of university knowledge management for local agricultural development caused positive impacts on local development of Camajuaní. Limitations: It is necessary to train local actors in carrying out these entrepreneurship because ignorance can bring great failures. Conclusions: The applied model found a solution to pressing problems expressed in reduction of the deterioration of ecosystems, environmental conditions and quality of life and the achievement of sustainable agricultural development.
