Abstract

ALVAREZ, Carmen; REYES, Yarira; MONTANO, Carlos  and  TOSCANO MOCTEZUMA, Juan Alfonso. Community leaders training as social promoter at Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Estud. soc [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.45, pp.261-281. ISSN 0188-4557.

This article describes the development of an academic program workshop that was designed to be a training program for community leaders in the field; so, they could improve the situation of the communities based on the thechnique of participatory appraisals. This program was developed by one governmental institution (Comisión Nacional para Prevenir y Erradicar la Violencia contra las Mujeres (Conavim), one non lucrative organization (Fundación del Empresariado Chihuahuense (Fechac)) and the University of Ciudad Juárez. The workshop was design considering the social and security crisis that Ciudad Juarez was living at that moment as well as the specific required qualifications needed and expressed into the governmental and civil society program named "Todos Juarez".
