In this article we analyze the case of the rice of the state of Morelos under the approach of Localized Agri-Food Systems (SIAL) that focuses on the interrelationship between the territories and the production and consumption of food. We pay close attention to the importance of local producers as the Appellation Origin (AO) within a competitive strategy in a market dominated by imported rice.
