Abstract

CRUZ RODRIGUEZ, Edwin. Multiculturalism, interculturalism, and autonomy. Estud. soc [online]. 2014, vol.22, n.43, pp.241-269. ISSN 0188-4557.

This paper examines two theoretical approaches on the autonomy: the liberal multiculturalism and the Latin-American interculturalism. The main argument is that the intercultural approach is more suitable to base the autonomy that the multiculturalism because it has a major methodological scope and his normative horizons are more wide. First, the interculturalism's critiques to Kymlicka's liberal multiculturalism are examined. Afterwards, his conceptions of the autonomy are studied.
