SOTOMAYOR PETERSON, Zonia; PESQUEIRA LEAL, Jorge  and  RENDON RENDON, Rosela. Rape: Male eroticism border?. Estud. soc [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.42, pp.279-306. ISSN 0188-4557.

It is important to identify and understand how to build and express masculinity and violence trigger factors in response to potential threats, real or perceived. To understand the violence we analyze power and its distribution, that is: the power relationship between those involved and in the case of violence against women, the abuse of power. To analyze violence we must understand the use that people make of power. The violent man wants control, seeks control, domination and subordination of the other. We believe that dominion is an act of appropriation by the possession of the other, an action which keeps the other in a state of submission and dependence. Violence seeks therefore deconstruct subjectivity of the other. Extreme violence would be rape, murder, the climax of the power to destroy the other.

Keywords : eroticism; masculinity construction; rape; child rape; homicide; murder; antisocial behavior.
