DAVILA-FLORES, Alejandro  e  VALDES-IBARRA, Miriam. Mexico. Economic Costs of the Closing of “Non-essential” Activities Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Multisectoral and Regional Analysis Using SAM Models. Econ: teor. práct [online]. 2020, n.spe5, pp.15-43.  Epub 30-Jul-2021. ISSN 2448-7481.  https://doi.org/10.24275/etypuam/ne/e052020/davila.

Multisectoral models built with social accounting matrices are used to evaluate the economic impacts of the health emergency measures decreed by the Federal Government to combat the Covid 19 pandemic. The repercussions of these measures are analyzed from sectoral and space perspectives. In the former case, the models encompass 33 production activities and four institutional agents (Enterprises, Homes, Government and Foreign Sector), with impacts analyzed for national, mesoregional and state economies. The impacts of unemployment from “non-essential” activities on gross production levels, gross domestic product, household disposable income and levels of domestic private consumption are considered.

Palavras-chave : Extended input-output models; social accounting matrix; econometric and input-output models; other models.
