Abstract

LECHUGA MONTENEGRO, Jesús  and  GOMEZ GARCIA, Carlos. Analytic relationships between Wages, Productivity and Prices: Basic Consumer Goods and their Consumption in Mexico, 1993-2011. Econ: teor. práct [online]. 2015, n.43, pp.183-210. ISSN 2448-7481.

In this paper we analyze productivity in the industrial classes that produce basic consumer goods, together with the evolution of prices. It is shown that price stability has not generated productivity gains that enable the increase in real wages, which leads to deterioration in the living standards of workers. It concludes with a reflection on the advisability of conducting expansionary policies in activities that provide basic consumer goods.

Keywords : wages; basic wage goods; productivity; prices.
