TORRES LOPEZ, Juan Carlos. The spell as a dialogical act: analysis of five nahuatl spells collected by Hernando Ruiz de Alarcón from the postulates of Mikhail Bakhtin. Lit. mex [online]. 2018, vol.29, n.2, pp.11-34. ISSN 2448-8216. https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.litmex.29.2.2018.1128.
This article studies the Nahuatl language spell of the seventeenth century as a discursive genre whose model of realization is dialogue and negotiation in a sphere of mythological discursive praxis. The analysis of five spells for the cure of diseases collected by Hernando Ruiz de Alarcón allows us to see the performative and dialogical nature of the discourse, as well as its interlocutors with their replies in the dialogue. The analysis of this dialogism is based on the studies of the literary theorist Mikhail Bakhtin about the components of the discursive communication act and his theory on discursive genres, as well as in the concept of utterance as a minimum unit of communication.
