The general objective of this work is to establish the variables that condition the importance of a case in press coverage. Therefore, using the precepts of the Agenda Setting Theory as a guide, a research of the content in press coverage of the so called "country conflict" of 2008 in Argentina was done. The analytical work allowed us to construct an index of importance applicable to the study of other cases.
