The results presented in this paper come from a year of monitoring of television fiction in eight Iberoamerican countries. Some main transformations can be appreciated in the production, broadcasting and reception of the increasingly diversified TV fiction programming. Telenovela consolidates itself as the most popular TV fiction format, especially during prime time, and it appears as a privileged site for experimenting, both, brand placement and political merchandising.
