The purpose of this article is to show the impact of social linkages on the occupational mobility of graduates from the University of Antioquia. This research is a non-experimental quantitative survey-based study, focusing on 255 graduates from different college majors offered through the program of educational decentralization. The results show that the college degree has enabled graduates to overcome the disadvantages of social origin, as they accumulate resources through the transformation of their relational network and the acquisition of new contacts.
