PEDROZA GARCIA, Ruhama Abigail. The same but different: Mennonites in Chihuahua. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2020, vol.82, n.2, pp.255-279. Epub 09-Sep-2020. ISSN 2594-0651. https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2020.2.58144.
In 1922, the Mennonites in Mexico were a people of European origin, who spoke an unknown language, married exclusively among them, and raised their children within the Altkolonier church. Today, Mennonites living in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, are characterized by a growing and rich internal diversity, different stratification processes, an economic development that implies openness to the foreign market, and the emergence of miscegenation among them. This article offers an overview of both processes: identification and differentiation among Chihuahua Mennonites.
