Resumen

CARDONA ACUNA, Luz Ángela; ORTIZ RIOS, Horacio  y  VAZQUEZ VALENCIA, Luis Daniel. Corruption and human rights: From intuition to conviction. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2018, vol.80, n.3, pp.577-610. ISSN 2594-0651.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2018.3.57738.

Academics have recently begun to theorize about the potential impact of corruption on human rights, but no analyses have been undertaken to date provide empirical evidence on the relationship between these two phenomena. This is the main contribution of the text. It examined the relationship between corruption and human rights and found that the greater the corruption, the fewer civil rights, and the lower the likelihood of exercising economic and social rights, life expectancy, GDP per capita, and electoral rights.

Palabras llave : human rights; corruption; human rights indicators; corruption indicators.
