Abstract

This article presents a general concept of guilds and explains the entrepreneurial specificities. It develops several typologies that distinguish types of business organizations according to different criteria (size of partners, role in intermediation, complexity, size of organization, sector of activity and territoriality) and addresses various theoretical perspectives of organizational studies (rationalist, naturalistic and the open system) applied to the central problems of business associations.
