Resumen
MORAN FAUNDES, José Manuel. The development of so-called Pro-Life Activism in Argentina, 1980-2014. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2015, vol.77, n.3, pp.407-435. ISSN 2594-0651.
The Catholic hierarchy and certain evangelical churches have emerged as strong opponents of sexual and reproductive rights in Latin America. Moreover, various NGOs calling themselves Pro-Life have begun to play a key role in this conservative activism, operating in the arena of civil society in ways that transcend religion. This article describes the dynamic configuration of these organizations in Argentina. Through the analysis of 140 NGOs, it proposes an analytical distinction of the three stages they have undergone, considering the changes in their advocacy strategies and in their public identities.
