GAMALLO, Leandro Anibal. Lynching in Mexico in the Twentieth-First century. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2015, vol.77, n.2, pp.183-213. ISSN 2594-0651.
This article investigates lynching in Mexico from 2000 to 2011. It describes statistically the main dimensions involved in the actions of this period and proposes a typology of this phenomenon. The historical evolution of these actions of collective violence shows a process of greater complexity in areas crossed by community dynamics of social organization. Therefore it is possible to talk about lynching as a "repertoire of contention" rooted in the collective memory, that is, a popular security strategy to face the crisis of the state in the provision of public security.
