Abstract
DE FILIPPO, Daniela; SANZ CASADO, Elías and GOMEZ, Isabel. Scientific Mobility and Gender: Study of Professors at a Spanish University. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2009, vol.71, n.2, pp.351-386. ISSN 2594-0651.
Interaction between scientists has become a central element of scientific activity, and academic mobility one of its main features. This article analyzes the participation of professors from the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid in mobility programs. Institutional information is used to study patterns of mobility by gender to determine significant differences. The article also considers researchers' academic category, age and family status (presence of children) to determine whether they influence mobility and the extent to which these may affect researchers of either sex. The article ends by analyzing scientific productivity by gender and the influence mobility has on it.
