This is a descriptive analysis of the levels and trends in divorce and marital separation in Mexico. The article examines the accumulated probabilities of dissolution of the first conjugal union obtained by applying the technique of life tables and using information from the 1976 Mexican Fertility Survey and the 2003 Reproductive Health Survey. The results indicate continuities and changes in the phenomenon over the last thirty years.
