Abstract

Through a qualitative approach, this work seeks to visualize and understand some of thegender, economic, normative and sociocultural aspects that influence women s capacity to negotiate birth-control decisions in a rural community in Chiapas. It highlights the importance of structural conditions and the promotion ofwomens rights for makingmore equitable contraceptive decisions based on their own priorities and interests.
