DE OLIVEIRA BOFF, Eva Teresinha  y  DEL PINO, José Cláudio. The School Curriculum in The Study Situation Context: Drugs - Effects and Consequences in Human Beings. Educ. quím [online]. 2013, vol.24, n.3, pp.351-357. ISSN 0187-893X.

Here are presented discussions that took place in an interactive teacher formation group focused on the production and development of a curricular innovation called Study Situation (SS). The aim of the proposal is to break with the traditional teaching model, in which students are seen as static objects that are isolated from their cultural and social environment, with no choice of voice. In order to contribute with overcoming this situation, a research in action process was developed involving teachers and undergraduates at a Brazilian university, and Elementary Education teachers and students to develop the SS: Drugs - effects and consequences in human beings, as well as analyzing its potential and limitations to build an integrated curriculum taking into consideration themes that are socially relevant so as to contribute to improve life quality without overlooking subject contents. The research shows that this way of teaching encourages effective student participation in their learning process, provides a greater production of senses and meanings to the concepts of chemistry, physics and biology, and contributes to establish teachers who research their daily school deeds.
