MATUS RUIZ, Maximino; RAMIREZ AUTRAN, Rodrigo; CASTILLO BALDERA, Estafanía  and  CARINO HUERTA, Gloria. Mental health and mobil ICT in indigenous transnational communities. Frontera norte [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.56, pp.135-163. ISSN 2594-0260.

This article explores the potential uses of information communication technologies (ICTS) in the treatment of mental health issues in transnational communities. Drawing on research conducted among residents of San Miguel, Oaxaca, living in both Mexico and the United States, this study describes the community's mental health profile, including patterns of alcoholism and drug use, as well as access to and use of ICTS. These two themes are then analyzed together, to explore the potential of ICTS in the treatment of mental health in transnational communities.

Keywords : mental health; migration; ICT; Oaxaca; California.
