Abstract

AGIER, Michel. From the Border to the Cosmopolitan Condition: The Anthropology beyond Multiculturalism. Frontera norte [online]. 2014, vol.26, n.spe3, pp.57-73. ISSN 2594-0260.

In this article the author gives account of a large investigation he developed these last years about displacements and borders in Africa, Middle East and Europe with people considered as foreigners. In this framework, the cosmopolitan condition is referred as the social experience lived in borders' situations. Based on his and other researchers' investigations, the author develops the debate on globalization, anthropology today and the cosmopolitics beyond identity and multiculturalism.
