Abstract

This work demonstrates that integration policies and activities between Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, and San Antonio, Texas, are affected by each other because both entities are within the same economic and historic space. In this sense, integration policies in this region are not innovations, they are modern ways to reproduce the geographic and economic order. To analyze Nuevo Leon and San Antonio's government activities to advance into regional integration, we take into account the ideas of economic geography and economic space. At the end of the paper we show the limitations and profits of integration policies.
