Abstract

ALANIS ENCISO, Fernando Saúl. Baja California's Colonozation with Mexicans Coming back from the USA. Frontera norte [online]. 2001, vol.13, n.26, pp.141-163. ISSN 2594-0260.

This article analyzes the way that President Lazaro Cárdenas's government proceeded towards the repatriation of Mexican coming from the United States to Baja California. It is expounded here that during the Cárdenas period the Mexican government manifested repeatedly for the colonization of Baja California with Mexican arising from the United States. The interest was evident in the promotion of various studies, and the tours of distinguished officials that examined the conditions of the place to establish expatriated compatriots. Nevertheless, the actions taken to set the colonization and promote repatriation where minimal as cardenist migration, labor and agrarian policies, did not contemplate mexicans in exile as beneficiaries.

Keywords : Settlement; Cardenismo; Agrarian Policy; Borderlands; Baja California.
