Abstract

TAPIA, Fidel; CHACON, Santiago  and  PEREZ-GORJON, Sergio. Corticioid fungi (Agaricomycetes) reported from Mexico. Act. Bot. Mex [online]. 2016, n.114, pp.15-50. ISSN 2448-7589.

Based on an extensive literature search, a list of 261 species of corticioid fungi (Agaricomycetes) that have been registered in Mexico between 1851 and 2014 is presented. The taxa belong to 11 orders, 35 families and 100 genera. The states of Veracruz, Sonora and Aguascalientes were those with the highest number of species recorded with 93, 69 and 56 species, respectively. In contrast, the states of Baja California, Guanajuato and Zacatecas only have one record of corticioid fungi. Fifteen species of corticioid fungi are considered doubtful because there are no recent studies of the type material, and additionally their taxonomic position and possible synonymy are not known. Photographs of species of corticioid fungi common in Mexico are also presented.

Keywords : Agaricomycetes; inventory of fungi; Mexico.
