Two species new to science are described and a new combination is made for the genus Inga (Ingeae, Mimosoideae, leguminosae) in the phytogeographic area treated by the Flora Mesoamericana. descriptions and illustrations are provided for Inga lactifera M. Sousa and I. appendiculata M. Sousa. A modification of the rank is proposed for I. multijuga subsp. mexicana T.D. Penn. The species I. chiapensis Miranda ex M. Sousa is illustrated for the first time.
