Based on empirical research with quantitative approach and assuming that professionals working in direct social intervention, are influential in the sensations of discomfort or subjective well-being with which subjects experience the daily life in Chile, this article describes the effects of massification of university education and its counterpart in the employment of social workers and sociologists. It is evident the need transparent to the students during the training process, the reality of the labor market and professional development opportunities in the country, so they can make informed, conscious and realistic options, which could eventually lead to a more cohesive society and social peace.
