Abstract

MARTIN, Gerald. Mario Vargas Llosa: knight-errant of the liberal imagination. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.69, pp.147-166. ISSN 0187-5795.

This paper examines the romans of Mario Vargas Llosa from the perspective of their differences with the dominant themes and styles of the Latin American boom. His study focuses on two novels, The City and the dogs, and Conversation in The Cathedral, considered the most important works of the Peruvian novelist. In this framework it combines literary, political and biographical elements.
