This paper deals on the discussion about current State's classification/categorization, from the Weberian proposal on the democratic and rule of law as the ideal type of State. This work presents a state of art revision on concepts about the State and its main challenges, such as: legitimacy crisis, lack of rule of law States and violence (within the State).
