In a context of significant transformations of the institutions related to the modernizing western project, where the individual-society relationship tends to lose the mediating references that used to make sense of human experience in the world, new ways of answering the old questions about suffering, uncertainty, and the salvation of the soul, emerge. The aim of this paper is to study the therapeutic and religious trajectories of subjects that choose alternative therapies and Neo-pentecostalism as a way to face personal difficulties that lead them to seek new sources of meaning. The paper includes field work through in-depth interviews, participant observation and document analysis of an evangelical Pentecostal church and a holistic health institute in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
