Resumen

DUEK, María Celia. Individuo y sociedad: Perspectivas teórico-metodológicas en la sociología clásica. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2009, vol.22, n.60, pp.9-24. ISSN 0187-5795.

The individual-society relationship and the individual's paper in history, have been approached from different points of view by the classics of sociology, and afterwards, by contemporary sociology. In this work we center ourselves fundamentally in Max Weber's perspective. In the last stage of his production (1910-1920), the German thinker incursions into sociology and delimits an "individualistic method" that puts an accent on the actor, providing the discipline a completely different base than the one given by Marxist theory or even the "holist" method of the French sociological tradition of the XIX century. In this paper, our purpose is, on one side, to identify and explain this issue in Weber's work, and on the other, to show how this perspective supposes an insuperable rupture with the "structural" method proposed by classic Marxism.

Palabras llave : Methodological individualism; action; dialectical method; social structure.
