Abstract

LANDAU, Matías. Laclau, Foucault, Rancière: between the politics and the police. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2006, vol.19, n.52, pp.179-197. ISSN 0187-5795.

In this essay on analyses the different conceptions of power in the contributions of Michel Foucault, Ernesto Laclau and Jacques Rancière, and we describe the place that have in their theories the concepts of politics and police. The article starts with some theoretical reflections by Ernesto Laclau. We show his conception of politics as a concept very closely with his concept of hegemony. After that, we incorporate to the discussion some contributions provided by the work of Michel Foucault, particularly the "art of government" and the practices of police. We finalize the article showing the contributions of Jacques Rancière allow a dialogue between them.

Keywords : Laclau; Foucault; Rancière; poder; política.
