Abstract

TARRIO GARCIA, María  and  CONCHEIRO BORQUEZ, Luciano. Chiapas: the changes in land possession. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2006, vol.19, n.51, pp.31-71. ISSN 0187-5795.

This article analyzes the struggle for land and the agrarian structure in Chiapas, with emphasis on the changes that neoliberalism and globalization have imposed on that state. Specifically, it analyzes the impact of the Puebla-Panama Plan in the structure of the agrarian property, noticing that more than an alternative, such project may mean a major risk for both its peasant social reproduction and the biodiversity of the region.
