VERA-NUNEZ, José Antonio et al. Controlled solubility fertilizers in the wheat crop grown in The Bajio: N balance. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2012, vol.30, n.2, pp.121-127. ISSN 2395-8030.

The objectives in this study were to quantify the N-uptake and residual N from composites fertilizers of controlled solubility (CFCS: AUK1 and AGUMFA4) in a wheat-soil system under different soil management (traditional tillage and zero tillage) in El Bajío region, using the 15N isotope technique under field conditions. Losses of N-N2O from CFCS compared with urea and ammonium sulfate during the wheat crop cycle were determined using gas chromatography. The results of N supply showed differences in performance between the CFCS evaluated, AGUMFA4 and AUK1 fertilizers showed the significant potential, which was reflected in the field in high N uptake efficiency (76%) compared with the efficiency of N-urea (16%), under zero tillage. Besides, the use of this technology represents an added ecological value because lower emissions of polluting gases (N2O) up to 12-20 times less than the those losses observed in ammonium sulfate. The implementation of the CFCS technology integrated with other agricultural practices can reduce the fertilization rate and enhance the efficiency of N absorption, contributing to a sustainable management system for wheat production in El Bajío region.

Palavras-chave : 15N isotope; residual N; N2O; N-use efficiency; tillage.
