GONZALEZ-CERVANTES, G. et al. Comparisson of methods for determining evapotranspiration of pecans trees and its use for scheduling irrigation. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2012, vol.30, n.1, pp.29-38. ISSN 2395-8030.

In order to provide timely irrigation to walnut pecan, and to increase technical level of agricultural sector for increasing sustainability and productivity, reference evapotranspiration was determined by three methods: Pennman-Monteith Doorembos-Pruit and, Hargreaves- Samani and from monitoring of agro-climatic variables with an automated meteorological stations network, located in two subregions of the Nazas basin. The results based on a comparison of methods, indicate that Pennman-Monteith model presented a better correlation with the reference evapotranspiration calculated by the evaporation method based on tank type A evaporation observations was the best model to determine the crop evapotranspiration, followed by Doorembos-Pruit and finally by the Hargreaves-Samani. These models indicate that water consumption of the pecan walnut is slightly higher downstream relative to that of the middle basin of the Nazas River.
