Resumen

TRUJILLO-OJEDA, Héctor Manuel et al. Ganglioma with diagnosis of cavernous angioma. Arch. Neurocien. (Mex., D.F.) [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.2, pp.109-112. ISSN 1028-5938.

The ganglioglioma, a term that was mint by Courville in 1930 as a transitial neoplasia between glial and not glial cells, has ganglionar cells well differenciated mixed with glial stroma and with astrocites and oligodendrocites. They are not frecuent and their presentation is in children and young adults with temporal, frontal and parietal localizations. In general the ganglioglioma is considerated as a good prognosis neoplasia with its anaplasic transformation is uncommon. This is the infant variety (desmoplasic) with a poor prognosis. We presented a 10 year old male patient with radiologic diagnostic of the cavernous angioma localized on the left temporal lobe; he had 2 surgeries, the first with a histopatologic cavernous angioma report, and the final with a ganglioglioma report, in this paper we made a review of the literature and a discussion on the prognostic factors.

Palabras llave : ganglioglioma; cavernous angioma; desmoplasic; anaplasic; prognosis.
