Resumen

DOMINGO PAMIES, David; REY MARTIN, Carina  y  RODRIGUEZ PARADA, Concepción. Accessible services to all users in Spanish University Libraries: state of the art. Investig. bibl [online]. 2021, vol.35, n.89, eib0895842602.  Epub 22-Mar-2022. ISSN 2448-8321.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iibi.24488321xe.2021.89.58426.

Until now, universities have focused its attention on disability in the field of teaching through the implementation of programs or plans which include, among others, the acquisition of specific software, teaching aid measures and the recruitment of support staff. However, university services, such as those offered by libraries, have not shown the same level of adaptation. Unlike what happens with public libraries, the bibliography focused on accessibility and inclusive services in university libraries is very scarce. This work aims to alleviate this gap through a bibliographical study and subsequent qualitative analysis of the needs of users with disabilities and their care in public libraries, to later review the good practices and specific services provided by the universities and their respective libraries as they are disseminated on the web pages of each of them.

Although the legal and regulatory framework establishes generic guidelines to guarantee physical and library services accessibility, this article aims to specify those guidelines for adapting them to the specific circumstances of university libraries.
