Abstract
GORDON, Sara; MURILLO, Sandra and HERNANDEZ, Selene. Life Satisfaction and Social Performance in Mexico, A Multidimensional Approach. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2018, vol.33, n.94, pp.41-74. ISSN 2007-8358.
This article aims to identify the factors associated with life satisfaction in Mexico, specify its content, and respond to several questions about the role that certain individual and institutional characteristics play in different spheres (economic, legal, political, social) with regard to life satisfaction. Based on the 2014 National Survey on Subjective Satisfaction with Life and Society (Ensaviso), the authors apply a logistical regression model. Their main findings indicate that freedom to make decisions, family life, and economic circumstances are the weightiest variables in the probability of explaining life satisfaction.
Keywords : life satisfaction; social performance; freedom of decision-making; family life.
